Gerald Raymond Hamilton

Gerald Raymond Hamilton, 81, of Marietta, OH passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.  He was born on Friday, January 22, 1932 in Washington County, OH to the late Ernest Raymond and Corah Ethel (Hayes) Hamilton.

After graduating from Lawrence High School in 1950, Gerald served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  Upon his return, Gerald worked as a Senior Pressman at Richardson Printing, where he retired after 44 years. He was a member of Masterton Lodge #429 F. & A.M. and Past Patron of Masterton Lodge Chapter #584 O.E.S.  Gerald enjoyed ham radio and his amateur radio license was N8GRH. His hobbies included working on automobiles, traveling, hunting and collecting pictures of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Gerald is survived by his wife, Connie Bennett Hamilton; daughter, Shelli R. Ritenour (Don) of Maryland; son, Mark L. Hamilton (Kelly McLeod) of Maine; five grandchildren, Major Joshua S. Ritenour MD, Joel H. Ritenour both of Hawaii, Aaron M. Hamilton, Jason A. Hamilton, Lila Hamilton all of Maine, and eight great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hamilton; two brothers, Arthur Ronald Hamilton and Lloyd Eugene Hamilton.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, OH 45750 with Richard Saltzwedel officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 PM with Masonic and Eastern Star Services beginning at 7:30 PM.
